Pastor Tyrone Baity

Christian Hope M.B. Church

Rev. Tyrone E. Baity is a native Illinoisan who grow up in Robbins. He attended local area public school and graduate of Dwight D. Eisenhower High School. Soon after graduating from high school, he joined the United States Army and served several years until honorably discharged. He went on to pursue an education in ministry, by taking and completing several independent study courses at Moody Bible Institute of Chicago, and went on to attend Trinity International University, and several years later, earned an Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry and a Master of Arts in Urban Ministries.

From the earliest of his life, he attended Great Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Robbins, under the late Rev. Dr. W.L. Cook, Sr. It was at Great Hope MBC that he would come to know, confess, believe in Jesus Christ and be baptized there at age 6. It was through this encounter and under the leadership and mentoring tutelage of Dr. Cook that he received biblical training and call to the ministry. Recognizing and nurturing the anointing and call upon his life, Rev. Dr. W.L. Cook, Sr. appointed him to function in various areas within that local assembly. He functioned as an Adult Sunday school teacher, Minister of Transportation, Men’s Ministry, Pastoral Appreciation Chairperson, and in various other areas, to include Custodian.

In addition to serving in various capacities of leadership throughout the years, Rev. Baity was involved in a variety of other endeavors that prepared him to embrace lost souls, and to minister to the total man regardless of challenges or limitations. During his time in the ministry one of which has been extremely helpful in helping him to learn about having great concern for the lost and to effectively do ministry and to do it well, descent, and in order; especially concerning those who are in nursing homes, the poor, the broken, and abused, was Rev. Dr. Edward Wright, Jr.

In following years, God released him to embark upon his own ministry. He was called as pastor of the Christian Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Chicago on January 11, 2009. His charismatic style of preaching and “old soul” characteristics has captured the attention of the congregation. As a sower goes forth to sow, he has an anointing that allows him to minister to those in need of healing of the mind, body, and soul. With such a great calling to fulfill, he finds time to conduct bible study, teach, pray for those who are sick, write letters to members, conduct a pastoral prayer line ministry, and spend time studying God’s word. He is supported in his ministry by his wife, Sonia and their 10 children. His ultimate desire is to minister to the total man, in worship, in the word and in witness. He desires to see people fully embrace God’s love and walk in victory and power, while experiencing the fullness of God’s promises.
